Can book change the perspectives?
Have you read the book "I am vidya" by Living smile Vidya. Today I have read that book it was eye opener for me , It has only 138 pages ,non fiction which talks about the life of Vidya a transgender. When I started to read I thought it would be a normal book about someone, Indeed it changes your perspective at the end,
Without any expectations I started to read ,There each and every chapter I could comprehend easily and also it brought practical issues faced by transgender in our society really couldn't express their pain through words.
The notion of 'Other ',Who invented it , Who has given practice to people for approaching them in ruthless way , The world is not belong to anyone ! Every one has right to live their life with dignity and equality but we forget those things and started to owning everything in the name of superior being, We might not know their pain ,Their Trauma of living 'Double life 'to fulfill the social requirement and family expectations, concealed their inner emotions seeking for place to let out their feelings which was hell to them.
I feel,When there is a necessity in a society for transgender ,We would accept them without any discrimination,But if there is no necessary,We never let them live their life peacefully,The social norms and unwritten gender norms , Stereotypes made us to behave in foolish way which should be eradicate from our thoughts.
In addition,We should accept them as they are ,
We are evaluating them by their occupation,Do we think about the reason behind that ?How and why did they push to this kind of jobs ?We always start to create bad impression about them without knowing the truth and practical issues they face in our society .
If we believe, Everything has been created by God there is no such discrimination would happen in our society, Especially they are struggling to meet their daily needs even though they well educated they are unable to get jobs in their field. They are facing identity crisis in their own place especially among the family members and Family also disowned them which shattered all their hope towards Life.
We could see there are many NGO and government schemes help towards their welfare,But they need moral support they should not be isolated in the society,There voices should be heard to everyone without judgement, We should not look them as "fantasy object " and it should be taught to everyone.Physical power stands useless when there is no discipline, Many of them were humiliated and attacked physically by men in train station and busstand.
Just Respect everyone!! Nothing shakes our life when we spread kind and to everyone
