Publications

 Why do we need to publish? We might get instant answers like to create awareness, To  show our intelligence etc but in truth publication is very important to achieve in our career which exemplifies our diverse knowledge about the subject. Through the session, I came to know about Pro publication perspective and Critical/Anti Publications perspective those words are quite unusual for me , I could not comprehend actual meaning yet he made us to figure out those, Pro publication perspective stands for publishing our paper/Article in a right journal which is essential for Scholarly visibility on the other hand Critical/Anti Publications perspective refers to productivity is a capitalist lie exploitation. 


In addition,It doesn't create negative impression about publication it urges that producing things in our own way ,We should have passion and dedication to publish our paper and also it needs time (slow productivity).It has two dimensions , The first one is "Research Article Preparation"  which includes Title, Abstract, Author list,Key words, Introduction, Literature Review, Theory if any ,Text and context, Analysis, Conclusion, Acknowledgement Figures and Tables (if any ) Reference and citation.

However the second one is about" Publication cycle " which covers Journal selection, Submission, Editorial Review,Peer review selection,Peer review, Editorial decision, Author response, Editorial/Peer review second round, Copyediting, Proofreading and Publication ,These are the process for the Journal publication it would take time nearly 1 to 1.6 years, thus expects great patience to get success in Publishing our paper.


Furthermore, We had a discussion about "Choose the right journal",it plays pivotal role in publication,we need to learn about Scope of the Journal ,It's frequency, Review Mechanism and Members of the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) in addition we have various tools which helps us to choose the right journal such as Journal Suggestor  tool ( Taylor and Francis) ,JANE (Journal  Author  Name Estimator) .


To sum up, Publication is quite big process but if we prepare accordingly it should be easier as it just demands our patience and passion.

Workshop on "Academic Writing and Publishing"

 Today ,I have attended Insightful Workshop on "Academic Writing and Publishing" by Dr Sathyaraj Venkatesan ,Professor of English, Department of Humanities and Social Science , (NIT Trichy).This session was very useful and it has given fresh and new perspectives, I have learnt about the importance of Writing,Research and crucial role of Publications in the current scenario especially in the AI generation.  Firstly I was wondered, When he says "Teaching is a Ever Expanding Roles", it emphasis that Teaching is not just teach the concept with the passion to students like traditional way as it needs multiple roles to do simultaneously such as Research writing, Innovator mentor ship , supervision, administration, public engagement and Entrepreneurial Roles which is mandatory to achieve state of the Art in higher education,as it changes dramatically and so rapidly towards a managerial Outlook.
